Well done to all in Ballinastoe

Team-WORC desperately try to catch up

Well done to all the MAD riders who took part in the NPS round two at Ballinastoe yesterday. The big highlight for the club was the second place finish by Steve Scrivener in the Junior category. This was a well-deserved result, after huge effort and phenomenal improvement over recent months. Special mention is also due to Ryan, who finished 8th in the Expert category.

A summary of the results is available on the Sorrento website, we hope to have a full set of results and pictures to follow soon.

NPS Round 3 takes place in Lumpers on Sunday, so we're straight back into the next race again. This will require a co-ordinated travel plan, we'll have updates on this in the next day or so.

Please also remember that the club league starts this Thursday, 11th May. We're doing this in partnership with the IMBRC, and they'll be hosting the first round. People should meet at the top of the Hellfire, by the old house, by 7pm sharp, the race will be about 40 minutes long.

Cool race, I found it quite painful myself with all the horrible climbing and never as much desceding but it was a good learning event. The new "cmon MAD" chant was great to hear aided by our super cool jerseys.

Cant wait til Lumpers! Reports are coming back that the track is excellent so if your thinking about racing, this is the one!

I found that race really hard - even before it started I just wanted to lie down and sleep. Breathing paint fumes all day on Saturday didn't help. After struggling through two laps I managed to get into it and laps 3 & 4 were enjoyable. I finally finished one lap down, happy just to have kept going. Hopefully Lumpers will be a bit better.

If anyone is put off by all this race-talk I'd recommend coming along to one just to see what it's all about. However we'll be having some more laid back rides next week.

That's the spirit Steve! If that doesn't work, you can always try Doc Savage's trick : wait for people on a tough climb, then push them into the bushes as they pass.
