Feats of Superhuman Endurance

The tents have been packed, the food stockpiled and the wellies bought for this years's Mountain Mayhem 24 hour race at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. Seven brave MAD riders are heading over to push themselves to the limit. Conditions should be challenging after all the rain, so best of luck to Oisin, Judith, Paddy, Alex, Nigel, Brian and Inga tomorrow.

Mud, less mud, even less mud, rain, more mud, more rain, more mud, less mud, even less mud, more rain, more mud, flooded roads on the way home.

Great weekend, although i hated it by the end!

Highly non technical course .. if it wasn't for the mud (did i mention the mud?) it would have been so fast. As it was there was some of the sketchyiest riding i've ever done. Generally i was fighting the climbs trying to keep the wheels gripping and then completely out of control on the downhills.

    I enjoyed it though!

ah here, never mind the racing, sure you could get that anywhere, I'm looking for scandalous stories, pictures of muddy women wrestling etc....

Well there were teams of uni-cyclists, someone in a gorilla costume running arounds the woods in the middle of the night and jumping out at people, a fireworks display, an all-night rave going on half way around the course, an inflatable male sex doll attached to the course boundary with, em, full appendages, a bagpiper in full costume and kilt making your ears bleed at the top of the main climb. No mud wrestling though, except wrestling with your bike to keep upright on the decents.

you forgot to mention that the inflatable supporter had a glow stick attached for the night section!

Also, i can now confirm that being woken up at 2:50am to go mountainbiking and hearing the rain pouring onto your tent is not a pleasant experience!
