I may also need a lift this weekend... I'll have a car for the Marathons though - I promise! I can give the cars pilot advice on how to navigate the muddy descent :P

maybe, I was half thinking of returning home via there from the beginner spin..... :-)
    have you a lift sorted?

    Lift sorted :)

I did a run down the course today and it's class! If yas are sitting on the fence about going to this - do go! It will be a great event. You get to race the course 3 times with uplifts and it's (I'm guessing) a 15-20 minutes descent. Ya'll will be fine going down it :)

wow - what a total mind-blower and body-basher of an event!
Body should be just about recovered for next years one as I bent myself up a few times (just for laughs now!).
The Blast was everything great I heard about it and a load more. Commiserations to Noel who sliced his hand pretty bad during a practice run (hope u got it stitched OK Noel!).
nice one Ryan for 1st in his heat final (and 18th in the Blast - nice!) A puncture halfway thru the Blast was the only crap part of my day, but got it fixed and didn't finish last so all ended well. Never seen so many dirty grinning laughing faces after a race...madness is great

That was one of the most fun days I have had. I had heard lots about it before, everyone raving on about it but it was (as Fergal put it) everything and more.

The track was deadly - it had the tricky technical bits, jumps, a fireroad climb and fast fast single track. The atmosphere was great, food lovely and prizes really really good :)

I'm still buzzing after it all :)

Mr Downey, you've to report to Mr Richard Byrnes office and explain your absence from the Blast (he was asking for ya).
You missed Mick doing a great impression of Ryan as Mick went up to receive Ryan's prize on his behalf, while Ryan went looking for his stolen bike (that wasn't really stolen).
Actually is was nothing like Ryan but very funny, kind of a little prance in his step and an elegant motion of the arms, I'd swear you did ballet at one stage Mick....

LOL - I'd loved to have seen that. My heart dropped when I thought the bike was nicked!
