Upcoming beginners rides - day and night

We'll be running our first beginner night ride next Wednesday (10th). It'll be very easy - just around the Phoenix Park - but it'll allow people to get used to riding in the dark and make sure their lights are up to scratch. We'll meet at White's Gate entrance (near Farmleigh) at 7.30pm.

We'll also be having a quick blast around the park this Sunday (7th) to determine a route for the night spin. This will be suitable for everyone - even those who have just received a MTB for Christmas and never ventured offroad before. You should read our beginners information and get in touch if you haven't been out with us already. Meeting at White's Gate, 10am.

    Hi there,

would it be possible for me to borrow lights? I'd love to go on this but don't have a set of lights and the chances of me getting some before the ride are slim and none!!

    Let me know!!

    thanks

Hey guys. I've just moved up to Dublin from Cork. I went to college in Limerick and cycled with MBUL, so I've probably met some of you at the races.

I'll be along on Sunday, if that's alright? Prob not for the night cycle though, I've work at half eight!

    Hi there,

good spin in the park on Sunday, and great to see some newbies out, especially some new girls! Pity about our 'run in' with the park wardens!

Hopefully the beginners night ride on Wednesday will go as smoothly and will be as enjoyable!

    See you all on Wed

    What happened?

No wardens, rent-boys or benders to disturb a good spin in the park last night
there's was a lot of step-descending done, especially from full-suss Scrivener who punctured
on one set of steps going so fast, his bike doing a bit of buckin bronco in the process, a real sweet machine I gotta say....
Martin got himself dirtier than a mud wrestling tramp in a fall, that lovely reflective jacket ruined....
Shane had approx 146 lights on his bike, the lad just needs more carrots, he'd save a fortune on batteries...
We said special mtb prayers at the cross where we asked God to curse all mtb clubs except Ireland Premier MTB Club in this years NPS...
then we tackled those unholy Papal steps, Cormac-you need to say more prayers to get down them safely,
just got home before that mad storm started too....
    we're just so cool......
