great day, great track, great MAD attendance and a great days racing.

Powdery dry singletrack meant for fast and exciting laps.

I really enjoyed my race until that stealth-attack fecker deceived and mis-directed me with his "oh my neck is fine but the rest of me is wrecked after my 7 laps of the park.." blah de blah, and I was feeling sorry for him...but oh that didn't last long when he passed me on the fireroad on the 4th lap with his "I'm barely trying" upright cool-as-cucumber cycling position.
I didn't see him again until he beat me up back at the MAD tent to add insult to injury.

He knows who he is, I'm going to have to change tactics drastically for the NPS to avoid such humiliation in future.

I'm not past tampering with his brakes either.....feck no, he'll only be faster.....need to slow him down....glue on his tyres? GLUE ON HIS SADDLE??!! - oh yeah baby! - that would be fun when it came to the techy downhilly bits!! Ooohh!!

That was a good day out. That track still remains my favouraite, just so good. Wish all race tracks could be like that...

Brilliant turnout from MAD! Possibly the biggest club next to Banbridge there which is a huge development from a couple of years ago I think. I felt I rode quite well, I just need a little more fine tuning and will finally be able to give these juniors a good run for their money!

Congrats to Judith in elite ladies, Inga with a third, Ryan with an eighth in elite men. Some good racing within the MAD club with Tom and Oisin leading the sports, Shane and Ciaran in U16,Noel(a fair bit ahead it has to be said...) Robb, Morgan Fergal, Sean, Myself, Cait and Oisin B in Experts/Masters/Elite Ladies/Juniors.

Bring on NPS 1, I would urge the newer people in the club to support these races. They are really a hole lot of fun even if you are in the group casually spinning off the Sports line or savaging along in the Elites! We can also show off what a mighty club MAD has become!!! Just a point to note, the sports race is typically under an hour of racing so it is not beyond any member!

That was a great race. Excellent course - so dry. Towards the end when you really get to know every rock and route you can really get into the flow. The technical singletrack gets easier but the climbs definitely don't! Looking forward to seeing the photos and videos.

PS We had Andrikius and Cormac in sports too,... That course is excellent, so well balanced between climbs, fireroad and superb sections of singletrack, what a great day out yesterday and it was brilliant to hear the thunderous roars of support when we were descending the final section it really helps.

for sure Tom, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't get out to support the Sports lads & ladies enough in the previous 2 races but I won't be making that mistake again as having someone cheer you on REALLY gives you a huge boost - like a double-latte energy gel but 10 times more effective!
I'll put a wee video together later this week - have some nice clips of the Sportians carving down the last hill.

Nice job by the way Tom on the 'ground effect' video clip - looks and sounds great - there's this big whoosh as the riders go past....hearing yourself and Oisin have a chat during it was such a laugh, ye talking about some clueless local mayor presenting last year, and then surrounding the forest with Garda, "come out with your bikes in the air!", then Garda mountainbikers being brutal, not even being able to jump off kerbs etc..... ha ha!
