Moutainous-Cycling Activities this week

Barely enough time for the sore legs to recover from racing but we're at it again!
Tuesday April 24th night spin up 3 Rock
Meet at Taylors pub at 7pm, ~7:15 at Ticknock.

Thursday 26th April EPIC Night Race League.
An excellent way to improve your race form (needless to say I'll need to do a lot of them)
More info...
Park your car at Palmers Golden Ball pub, don't drive-up to the Leadmines, not very safe for cars up there and very limited parking space.
Race is at 7:30pm at Leadmines tower.

NPS Round 1 is on Sunday 29 April in Glenarm Forest, County Antrim, East Antrim Audi promoting.
XC race calendar
There may be a spin arranged for Saturday but I won't be around at the weekend, so watch this space for further announcements.

Bye for now!

a misty blanket hung over 3 rock tonight but the rain held-off for another good spin.
A welcome return to MAD spins was made by Mel tonight.
Although suffering from dodgy forks and a long absence from MTB, Mel seemed to be enjoying herself after long torturous months of study!

We did most of the Man Vs Bike route tonight though definitely not in the same sequence.
Paddy and Mel headed off across the transition to the boneshaker after the MAD CC while the rest of us opted for the fireroad climb to no-dabs.

Toward the end of the spin after no dabs, my helmet light stopped working, and since my backup was being used by Steve, I was left in the dark, but not alone as I joined Oisin in the darkness as he didn't have lights.

We struggled thru the last section with just a mental image of the course to guide us, we didn't do too bad considering

Then down the boneshaker in hot pursuit of 2 downhillers, pretty scary in the descending darkness and mist but it always a great way to end a spin.

Hope to see more of ye on Thurs night up in Leadmines!

Doing no-dabs in the dark with no lights is terrifying!

Thanks Fergal for the nice welcome, it was a great spin. The mist made the whole spin a bit more interesting. And the darkness made for some fun when I tried to follow Paddy in the woods - thank god it's getting brighter longer!
Will try and make the Leadmines Thursday!

A great start to the EPIC inter-club league at Leadmines last night.
A strong showing of racers from MAD, I really enjoyed my race and was glad of my 9th spot after a sprint to the finish with that rock-hugger from IMBRC Gar Magure :-)

Looking forward to the next one!
